In the Rías Baixas subdistrict of Condado do Tea, Morgadío began in 1984 as a farm that was consolidated from various owners, and the vineyard area was gradually expanded to its current 148 acres. Condado do Tea is located inland, on the north bank of the Miño River, with a gentle climate, southern exposure, and soils of granite sand, all of which creates a more concentrated expression of the Albariño variety. The winery produces wines using a gravity-flow facility, pneumatic presses, and stainless steel tanks.
The Morgadio bottling is made from 100% Albarino, grown in 35-year-old vineyards in Cresente, in Condado do Tea, from 165 to 650 feet in elevation. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged on the lees for three months in tank, then three months in bottle.
